Just as you prepare the ground and add nutrients to the soil when you plant a garden, so must you prepare your mind to be successful. Success is a journey, not a destination.
The key to success is your belief system. You first have to believe you can accomplish what you’re setting out to do. If your beliefs are negative, then you’ll have limited success. If you have a positive belief system, and consistently apply it, you will enjoy success. When you change the things you say to yourself, when you change what you believe, your results will change.
Here are five suggestions for creating an empowered mindset for success in business and life in general (the quotes are from Ellie Drake of BraveHeart Women, and we thank Ellie for her enduring wisdom and vision).
1. Express gratitude every day.
Acknowledging the things you’re grateful for every day opens up space for more good things to happen. “Be in gratitude for your life as it is today, while taking steps in the direction of your vision.”
2. Cultivate your primary goals.
Reminding yourself of what it is you really want to accomplish in your business and/or life is a powerful way to re-energize yourself. Asking every morning “How will I be most productive today?” will get you started on the right foot.
3. Plant your garden with purpose.
Consistently choose a mindset that is creative, purposeful, filled with intention, and productive of a fulfilling outcome.
4. Take time to breathe.
“Breathing is a bridge that connects the mind, body, and spirit. I breathe not only to survive, I breathe to thrive. Breathing to thrive is not corrective breathing, it is preventive breathing.”
“Trust is the nourishment for the seeds I plant. With trust my seeds will turn into flowers. How the flower grows is out of the scope of my practice. Why I must plant the seeds is within that scope. Trust is the transition of one into the other.”
